Ready for our grand adventure!!! 250 miles to go! Hey look! Twins! Let's eat lunch here. The soup of the day at this place is Crown Royal. What kind of place is this?!! The prophecy of the bacon shirt COMES TRUE!!! Uh oh. Rob is having a chili burger with onions. And we still have several hours stuck inside the van with him... We met up with our friends Tim and Melody and they had picked up some Voodoo Doughnuts! Doughnuts make you crazy. I think this may be the most epic photo I have ever taken. Detailing. Got to Seattle, checked into the hotel and headed over to Famous Dave's for an early dinner. John snuck in a little pinch. Time for some BBQ! Brisket, slaw and grilled pineapple. Mmmmmm. In past years I tried to get shots of John with our various waitresses. This year, Season was kind enough to give us a thumbs up! Exterminate!!! Look at these fantastic Dark Crystal characters! Wow! Cool make-up job! Nice Ghost Rider get up. By the beard of Zeus! This Medusa cosplay is phenomenal! Mel with Face-off's Roy Wooley We were ecstatic that Crypticon was hosting the World Premiere of our new flick DRIFTER as the Friday Night Midnight Movie. Many filers were handed out. Bob met us at the con. Happy Bob. Scary Bob. Bob and his friend Bonnie modeling their snazzy new shirts. Hotel mirrors are FUN! I had an $8 beer in the hotel bar to chill out before the premiere. Mike and Dale, chillin' in the hotel bar before the premiere. Rob chillin' in the hotel bar before the premiere. The DRIFTER world premiere went great! DRIFTER cast after the premiere. We gave away some autographed posters and had a little Q and A after the screening. Another happy con-goer. Thanks for coming to the DRIFTER world premiere! Our DRIFTER superfan! I ate the chocolate coconut one sometime in the wee hours of the morning. Mmmmmmm. Tim tried to tempt C. Thomas Howell with his Voodoo Doughnuts. He said it was difficult, but he had to pass, but happily posed for this photo! William Bivens and Roy Wooley chat about sculpting, molding and all manner of effects stuff, moderated by the very cool Lorelei Shannon. Dead Skin Mask! Jeffery Combs' panel was very entertaining! He talked about Re-Animator and From Beyond of course, and a little bit about Star Trek, but also about going to school in Seattle for a few years. Nick the Hat created this snazzy Re-Animator poster for the con! Another one of Nick's posters that I dig. Stylin' hearse! Sweet ride. The girls from Living Dead Magazine! Yeeargh!!! Rob with some cool cosplay. Jen and Sylvia Soska were great at their panel - full of great stories and hilarity. Sorry the picture is so grainy, but that panel room was packed! Cool sasquatch decal seen in the parking garage. A guy taking a photo of a girl in stocks inside a hearse next to a mannequin of a witch with a skull. Of course. Watch out for zombie pirates! Not if it is smoked! Back to Famous Dave's for Saturday dinner. Chopped pork, slaw and garlic mashed. Yes. Watch out John! That's Adam - the BLOOD CREEK WOODSMAN! Yup. Gonna need this. They rolled the refurbished gargoyle down the hallway, but had to tip it to git it through the doorway! Barbarann Garrard of Cake Rhapsody shows off her amazing cake! Par-tay! Dale will never learn. You can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your friend's nose. I call this one, "pickle on a table." Yes, I like a little breakfast with my ketchup. Roy Wooley teaches an airbrush class. Cool! Also cool! Dave chats with the laid back Eric Roberts Tim and actress Lynn Lowry. Melody was so excited to meet Doug Jones! ...and was pretty much speechless after her Doug Jones hug. That's a wicked cake knife! Local strippers and a skeleton - make your own boner joke here. Mel is going to see what's on the slab! Time for a Tim sandwich! More cool attendees. Multi-talented burlesque dancer, actress, model, writer, etc. Tristan Risk shows off a favorite photo. A high-haired fan shows off her DRIFTER button! I got to see Christopher R. Mihm's THE GIANT SPIDER and picked up a bunch of DVDs from him. Check out his stuff at sainteuphoria.com. Here I am posing with a Moon Zombie!!! Jeffery Combs joins me for the Sunday Afternoon Black Shirt Club meeting. While I know him best from the RE-ANIMATOR movies and FROM BEYOND, I asked him about Fred Olen Ray's super-motorcycle movie CYCLONE, as well as his work in Full Moon's DOCTOR MORDRID. He probably thought I was weird, but he posed for the photo anyway! Very cool guy. The Soska Twins are balls of energy. I was looking forward to telling them that I first heard of them when Seattle filmmaker Tonjia Atomic wore a DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK t-shirt at Crypticon a few years back. It was even better that when I walked up to their table, they were chatting with Tonjia, and she introduced me before I could even start my story! This is the regular photo... AND THIS IS THE METAL PHOTO! Dave loves metal, too! Getting ready for the Thriller dance! Wow. This zombie is flexible. Zombie Michael is thrilling! Those zombies were scaring everyone! Those zombies built up an appetite after all that dancing. Aaaaahhh! Is it Rob Zombie? No, it's just Rob AND A zombie. As our Crypticon 2014 adventure came to a close, we got a group shot with Cryption Mom, Mickie. So much love. And a gargoyle. And Tim has a place to set his hand. A couple of weeks after Crypticon, we held the Oregon premiere of DRIFTER. The DRIFTER himself during the Q and A after the Oregon premiere. And now DRIFTER is available on DVD! CLICK HERE TO ORDER! I'll just repeat this photo here. Just because. Can't wait until next year's Crypticon Seattle!!!Thanks to John, Rob, Tim and Dave for contributing photos this year! |
